Destined for an Early Grave by Jeaniene Frost

Destined for an Early Grave by Jeaniene Frost

My rating:
-Frigging Amazing! Why did it have to end?!

Synopsis:
Since half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her undead lover Bones met six years ago, they've fought against the rogue undead, battled a vengeful Master vampire, and pledged their devotion with a blood bond. Now it's time for a vacation. But their hopes for a perfect Paris holiday are dashed when Cat awakes one night in terror. She's having visions of a vampire named Gregor who's more powerful than Bones and has ties to her past that even Cat herself didn't know about.

Gregor believes Cat is his and he won't stop until he has her. As the battle begins between the vamp who haunts her nightmares and the one who has her heart, only Cat can break Gregor's hold over her. She'll need all the power she can summon in order to bring down the baddest bloodsucker she's ever faced ... even if getting that power will result in an early grave.

My thoughts:

Frost has done it again!

A Flat-Out Fantastic read. Great twists in the relationships and plot. I was a bit frustrated at times(not to do with the lack of great writing, but to do with the relationship scuffles..), even more so, I couldn't put it down. Destined for an Early Grave really digs deep with emotions of Cat and Bones. Their relationship is under pressure when an unknown vampire named Gregor intrudes Cats dreams. So she has bad dreams, so what? Right? Well he not only invades others dreams but also has the ability to physically snatch them from their dreams. Things turn out even worse once Cat finds out who the unknown vampire really is, and maybe he's not as unknown as she thought..

My love for Cat and Bones will never die, but I also got a new favorite. I was easily attached to Vlad in this book. I know Vlad is a huge character and is wrote about countless times, but I loved how he's portrayed in this series and truthfully, I felt sad for him. He's big and bad on the outside, but very sad and lonely on the inside. He's different than the usual male heroin, that's for sure. He can start fire from his palms! Cat and Vlad have a unusual friendship for 2 attractive beings in a dark romance book. They prefer sleeping, while in bed together. No misunderstandings, no hurt feelings, just great friends. I love it! I hope to see more of him in future books. I love the idea of a spin-off in the series. It's going to feature Cat's best friend and Bones best friend but I also hope Cat and Bones book keep going. I love this series, it's one of my favorites. If you are unfamiliar with this series, I recommend starting with Halfway To The Grave and reading the books in order.
Come onnnn February, so I can read, 'This Side of the Grave'!
