Hunting Ground by Patricia Briggs

Hunting Ground (Alpha & Omega, #2) Hunting Ground by Patricia Briggs

Anne Latham didn't know how complicated life could be until she became a werewolf. And until she was mated to Charles Cornick, the son--and enforcer--of Bran, the leader of the North American werewolves, she didn't know how dangerous it could be either...

Anna and Charles have just been enlisted to attend a summit to present Bran's controversial proposition: that the wolves should finally reveal themselves to humans. But the most feared Alpha in Europe is dead set against the plan--and it seems like someone else might be, too. When Anna is attacked by vampires using pack magic, the kind of power only werewolves should be able to draw on, Charles and Anna must combine their talents to hunt down whoever is behind it all--or risk losing everything...

My thoughts:
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Great second book in the Alpha and Omega series. Anna becomes more of a true Omega and finally is more comfortable with herself. She is becoming what she was meant to be, strong and confident. And I find it great that Charles and Anna's relationship is still tender but it's growing and better than ever and Charles is happy about her new strength.
Hunting ground is a strong book than the first one(Alpha and Omega) and I think it's because she has the ground work finally laid, but a lot of it is just that it's tighter in general. Not that the last book wasn't, but I just found this more a more fluent read. I know this isn't a particular romance type book, but I find I love their relationship and how Briggs portrays them.
In this book Charles and Anna go to a conference with the rest of the other packs to discus the wolves coming out into the public knowing and Anna and Charles find them selves caught in a few trials and big problems. When a wolf who opposes Charles and his father is turned up murdered Charles looks like the number one suspect so Charles and Anna must find the truth. It really is a great book, I couldn't put it down.. I cannot wait for book 3 !
