Lover Avenged by J.R Ward

Lover Avenged (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #7) Lover Avenged by J.R. Ward

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Hardcover: 544 pages
Publisher: NAL Hardcover; 1ST edition (April 28, 2009)

Caldwell, NY, has long been the battleground for the battleground for the vampires and their enemies, the Lessening Society. It’s also where Rehvenge has staked out his turf as a drug lord and notorious nightclub that caters to the rich and heavily armed. His shadowy reputation is exactly why he’s approached to kill Wrath, the Blind King, and leader of the Brotherhood.

Rehvenge has always kept his distance from the Brotherhood, even though his sister is married to a member. Because he’s a sympath, his identity is a deadly secret - the revelation of which will result in his banishment to a colony for sociopaths. As plots within and outside the Brotherhood take their toll against Rehvenge, he turns to the only source of light in a darkening world- Elhena, a vampire untouched by the corruption that has its hold on him - and the only thing standing between him and eternal destruction.

My thoughts:
Lover Avenged is the 7th installment in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by the amazing J.R Ward. Like all books in this series, it was a winner. After a few pages I'm drawn right into their world and get attached to characters so easily. I wasn't sure how the story was going to be with Rehvenge and Ehlena. They were so different. But I guess it's true, opposites do attract. You couldn't get too much more opposite than these two.
Ward is an amazing story teller. The personalities of the characters seem so real, that it's as if they are writing the story and not Ward. She can make you believe each characters thoughts as much as your own. She truly is a master of her work.

This series have a very complex and addictive storyline, if you have yet to read this series, you shouldn't decide to start here.
Here's a line of the books in order:
* Dark Lover
* Lover Eternal
* Lover Awakened
* Lover Revealed
* Lover Unbound
* Lover Enshrined
* Lover Avenged
* Lover Mine (To be Released 2010)
*Covet is the first Novel of the Fallen Angels

They are all amazing, but my favorites so far are Lover Awakened and Lover Unbound. They are Brilliant stories!

Rehvenge is a drug selling, club owning, bad-ass, sympath mobster.
He doesn't care for much of anyone, including himself. Only his sister and his mother are his soft stop. That is until his attention is focused on the beautiful nurse that doesn't cringe away from him like all the others. But he knows he can't ever have a woman like Ehlena, he doesn't deserve her.
And for a while, she believes him. Not that she's all high and mighty, she just knows he's trouble, and wants nothing to do with it.
But eventually, Rehvenge keeps coming up in Elhena's mind and she tells herself that she's calling him for a professional checkup only. But we all know that's only half true.

I won't tell to much of what happens, you'll have to read to find out for yourself!
This novel gives a lot of space to Beth and Wrath’s relationship. It's good that even though their story was book 1, we get a good glimpse at how their relationship currently is. Each book in the series gives space for past characters, which I'm very happy about.

Another big character is this story is John, yet again. Each story he grows in character, and this story he's starting to blossom(both good and bad). Ward also has Xhex is a big part as well. I cannot wait to see what's in store with him in Lover Mine. I've been dying to have a story of just John.

If you've read the past BDBH books, this one is another winner!! If you have yet to read this series.. What are you waiting for?!? :)
