Strong Female Heroins "Alpha Females".. Tell me your choices please!!

So, one thing I do like in a good book or series is a strong female lead. Funny, annoying, bitchy or sexy, a good female protagonist rocks!
Alpha males are an important part of a series, but I can't help but think a Alpha female is a harder character to write and love. A male can be a strong, confident and a jerk, but we still love him. Maybe even more so for that. But when a female is too confident, we tend to get annoyed and dislike them. Why is that, I wonder?
But all in all, I love reading a book or series with a "alpha female".

I have many, many favorites..but I'm only going to pick 15. 15 is honestly hard to narrow down to. I'd like to hear your 5 favorites. If you have more, by all means let me know!
I've been interested in hearing what others thought of this for a while, and over at Book Faery, I noticed she had Male Alpha lists, so I thought I'd try out the females. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on their favorites. :)

Here goes: (I don't have a particular order, that would be asking for too much I think.. hehe)

-Anita Blake from L.K.H's Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series

-Sabina Kane from the Sabina Kane series by Jane Wells

-Georgina Kincaid from the Georgina Kincaid series by Richelle Mead

-Kat from the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost

-Gin from the Elemental Assassin's series by Jennifer Estep

-Rachel Morgan from the Hollows series by Kim Harrison

-Elena Deveraux from the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh

-Dorina from the Dorina Basarab series by Karen Chance

-Jill Kismet from the Jill Kismet series by Lilith Saintcrow

-Antoinette Petrescu from the Dark Brethren series by Tracey O'Hara

-Betsy Taylor from the Undead series by MaryJanice Davidson

-Riley Jenson from the Riley Jenson Guardian series by Keri Arthur

-Jace Valchek from the Bloodhound Files series by D.D Barant

-Maliha Crayne from the Mortal Path series by Dakota Banks

and last by certainly not least..

-Mira from the Dark Days novels by Jocelynn Drake

I wish I could have picked more, but then I'd have a list of 100.
Agree with me? Who would you choose?
Do you have a favorite female character's name? (From any series)
Out of my list, I'd choose Maliha. It's not a common name, that I know of.. And I love how it sounds.

Isn't Kat super? hehe
