Get Him To The Greek

Release Date: 4 June 2010 (Canada)
Genre: Comedy

Synopsis for Get Him To The Greek

Warning! This synopsis may contain spoilers

Aaron Greenberg (Hill) gets things done. The ambitious 23-year-old has exaggerated his way into a dream job just in time for a career-making assignment. His mission: Fly to London and escort a rock god to L.A.s Greek Theatre for the first-stop on a $100-million tour. His warning: Turn your back on him at your own peril. British rocker Aldous Snow (Brand) is both a brilliant musician and walking sex. Weary of yes men and piles of money, the former front man is searching for the meaning of life. But that doesnt mean he cant have a few orgies while he finds it. When he learns his true love is in California, Aldous makes it his quest to win her backright before kick-starting his world domination.

As the countdown to the concert begins, one intern must navigate a minefield of London drug smuggles, New York City brawls and Vegas lap dances to deliver his charge safe and, sort of, sound. He may have to coax, lie to, enable and party with Aldous, but Aaron will get him to the Greek.

My Thoughts:

Easily the funniest film of the year so far...

Sunday past I went to see this movie with my friend Becca and from scene one we were laughing so hard I knew we were in for a good one!  Jonah Hill(Aaron) has been one of my favorite comedic actors since I first watched Superbad. I`ll admit, I`m a series comedy watcher. I like light comedies, but the rated, down right hilarious ones I will and have watched over and over. And any movie Jonah Hill is part of, I just know I`m going to love it.

Russell Brand is a newer comedic actor, but from his stand-up to Forgetting Sarah Marshall, you have to admit he makes a mark. He`s naturally hilarious and his accent is to die for. I loved Forgetting Sarah Marshall and if you loved it too, then I have a little surprise for you... This movie is somewhat a squeal to that movie. No, Sarah Marshall doesn`t act in it--except for a hilarious Sarah Marshall scene where Russall(Aldous Snow) mentions he slept with her-- Which is where you see the connection of the two movies. Aldous Snow is reprising his Forgetting Sarah Marshall character persona as the lead singer of Infant Sorrow, which I LOVED.

As for the other actors in the film, the movie was full of great actors - actresses.
Rose Bryne who plays Jackie Q, Aldous Snow`s 7 year partner, was SO FUNNY! She was amazing on Wicker Park(Drama, Romance Thriller), among many other great parts, surprised me in this film. She played Jackie Q amazing and I laughed so hard.

Sean Combs-P Diddy is also a major character in the film, and I admit I didn`t know what to except with him acting.. but he was very funny. He`s Aaron`s tough as nails boss, and when he rubbed the wall rug, I almost died from laughter! hehe (You`ll know what I mean when you watch it hehe)

2 other great characters were Colm Meany(Aldous Snow`s Dad) and  Elisabeth Moss(Aaron`s  Always Tired Gf). They all played amazing parts that fit this movie perfectly.

Besides each scene being better than the last, and me wanting to watch it ammeditly after I got home from the theaters, I`d say it`s a 5 out of 5 for a comedy. I think it`s worth the money to go see in the theater, but if not it`s worth the rent price for sure!

Funny Quotes from this movie:

``English singers never die.
Ozzy Osbourne is going to out live Miley Cyrus``
``You better be wearing a condom because I have a dirty mind``
