Review: Barely Bewitched(Southern Witch, #2) by Kimberly Frost

Barely Bewitched (Southern Witch, #2) Barely Bewitched by Kimberly Frost

My rating:

Synopsis:

Messing with magic can spell disaster!

Welcome to Duvall, Texas, where Tammy Jo Trask has just unleashed an accidental Armageddon.

Tammy Jo’s misfiring magic has attracted the unwanted attention of WAM, the World Association of Magic. Now, a wand-wielding wizard and a menacing fire warlock have come to Duvall to train her for a dangerous mandatory challenge. But is there more to their arrival than they claim?

When a curse leads to a toxic spill of pixie dust, the town comes unglued and the doors between the human and faery worlds begin to open. To rescue the town and to face the impossible magical test, Tammy needs the help of incredibly handsome Bryn Lyons, but WAM has declared him totally off-limits. To avoid deadly consequences, Tammy probably ought to follow the rules this time…

On the other hand, rebellion is an old Texas tradition.

My Thoughts:
Barely Bewitched is another amazing installment in the Southern Witch series by the witty Kimberly Frost.

What an enchanting read!
Just like Would-Be Witch, from page one of Barely Bewitched I was totally entranced. It doesn't matter if I was in a Paranormal Chick-Lit mood or not, I wouldn't be able to put this book down after the first page.

Tammy Jo faces another struggle when her bad week spills over into the next. Besides the town being against her, now she must answer to the World Association of Magic for her illegal use of witchcraft.
She needs to be properly trained and complete a difficult challenge.. & if she does not comply, she will be imprisoned or killed by the WAM. So besides training for an almost impossible task. Tammy Jo must also save the town from a toxic spill of pixie dust, that was her own fault to begin with. But the Pixie dust is no laughing matter, the town is turning into chaos, Bryn Lyons needs saving and time is running out for Tammy Jo..

I found Tammy Jo's ex husband Zach Sutton, even better in this book than the last. He knows what he wants, and even though he loves Tammy Jo with all his heart, he won't take her keeping him at arms lengh any longer. He makes a important decision for all three of them. What will happen?!?

Tammy Jo's ocelot pet, Mercutio, is still my favorite character of the series. He's cute, loyal and smart, what's not to love in a pet? I can't wait for more of him in Halfway Hexed!

What I love about Frost is her ability to keep me guessing. I find with many series, especially any form of Chick-Lit you can guess what is to happen in upcoming scenes..but with Frost, I find I no matter what I thought, she always twists it around to surprise me. And it's always a treat! I recommend this series, hands down! I'm dying for Halfway Hexed to be released!!!

"I'm a big fan of quirky characters and small town life. I have some friends who are from small Texas towns and I just love their accents, I love their stories. That's how I decided on the setting." -Kimberly Frost

I agree, I love small town characters and Texan accents! What a treat indeed!

I absolutely adore this series, the only problem is...I have no idea how long the wait will be for the next book. I need more.

Okay, because I'm a huge fan of the Southern Vampire series, I was so surprised to find that there's a Southern Witch series- because I love witches more than vampires. Great review, and I'm definitely adding this on my TBR list!
