Review: Daemon's Mark by Caitlin Kittredge

Daemon's Mark (Nocturne City, #5) Daemon's Mark by Caitlin Kittredge

My rating:

Since I could not find the right synopsis for this book (Caitlin Explains why, HERE)

But I found this quick one on Facebook. Until I have the right one, this one will do!

Synopsis:
What do the Russian mob, a brothel and a dead teenage were have in common. It is up to Luna to find out. In this non-stop ride we follow Lieutenant Wilder around Nocturne City and as far as the Ukraine. We get to see familiar faces and meet some new and unexpected foes and allies alike.

My Thoughts:
Daemon's Mark is the fifth (and final) installment in the Nocturne City novels. This book can be summed up into one word for Nocturne City fans, "WOW". I've been a fan of this series since page one of Night Life. Luna is a kick-ass, smart mouthed, troubled character, who will always try to do right for someone, even if it means hurting herself in the process. Dimirti, her ex-boyfriend/fellow were, and Luna had a falling in book 3(Second Skin, and we didn't get to see any of him in Witch Craft(book 4). She moved on with Will(her current, human cursed boyfriend), and was just starting to forget Dimitri.

Dimitri was a favorite of mine. Sure, he has a lot of problems, but so does Luna. In the ends, that's mostly their problem, they are too much alike. The other major problem would be Asmodeus(Daemon), that is now a part of Dimirti.

Will on the other hand, is a perfect match for Luna. He's not a were, but he is a (cursed & VERY? old) and is witty enough back enough to put up with her smart remarks. Silly even. He loves Luna for everything she is, and doesn't want her to change. He's there for her when she needs him. But will she want him to be?

This time around, Luna gets into the worst trouble she has ever been into. With the Death of a teenage were name lily's as her next case. Her Family is crushed and acting out. She now has the pressure of the case, plus the teenagers fathers threats of finding the one who did it on her shoulders. She searches for answers, in places they don't want to be found and get's dragged into a world no one would want to even hear about.
She ends up getting kidnapped and sent to Kiev, Russia for sex-trafficking. And that's only the half of it!

Daemon's Mark has many surprises. Especially concerning Dimitri. The story is well thought out, and the characters are as good as ever. You have your small, long time liked characters, such as Mac, Sunny, Bryson & Dr. Kronen. Sunny doesn't have as big of a part as she usually does, but she does make an appearance. And Asmodeus also makes and unwanted appearance. If there is another book ahead, he will be showing himself again, for sure. I say IF because, it's said that it's the last of the series. And my may very well be, but I REALLY hope it's not. It ended where it could go either way, but it still has so much potential... I want to see more of Luna.

If your a fan of Urban Fantasy, Supernatural beings, Menace and thrilling action, this is the story for you. This whole series is addicting. Everything Kittredge does, is addictive. She knows her stuff and writes pure gold. If you haven't read a Kittredge novel, I'd say you better put it as your next book to read. You won't be sorry.
