Review: Magic Bleeds by Ilona Andrews

Magic Bleeds (Kate Daniels, #4)Magic Bleeds by Ilona Andrews

Publisher:Ace Books
Pages:384
Release Date:May 25th, 2010
Book 4 in The Kate Daniels Series

My rating:
-Frigging Amazing! Why did it have to end?!

Synopsis:
Kate Daniels works for the Order of the Knights of Merciful Aid, officially as a liaison with the mercenary guild. Unofficially, she cleans up the paranormal problems no one else wants to handle—especially if they involve Atlanta’s shapeshifting community.

When she’s called in to investigate a fight at the Steel Horse, a bar midway between the territories of the shapeshifters and the necromancers, Kate quickly discovers there’s a new player in town. One who’s been around for thousands of years—and rode to war at the side of Kate’s father.

This foe may be too much even for Kate and Curran, the Lord of the Beasts, to handle. Because this time, Kate will be taking on family…

My Thoughts:

Magic Bleeds is the fourth installment in the Kate Daniels series by writing duo Ilona & Gordan Andrews. I started reading this series after winning a SIGNED copy of this book. Yes, amazing, I know! If you haven't read this series yet, don't start with Magic Bleeds. Magic Bites is book 1 and the series should be read in order. If I had to sum it up on 2 words, I would choose...
Genius & Exciting!
Only pages in, I knew I would be addicted to this series. I read all four of these books in 3 days. I would have read them even faster, if it wasn't
such a beautiful week!

This whole series has an amazing fantasy tone that fits in so well with the urban setting. It has a bit of Laurell K. Hamilton's, Anita Blake series feel, but not too much. I find it has more of Carrie Vaughn's Kitty Norville feel to it, which I LOVE. But, it still remains original and refreshing.
If you are already a Ilona Andrews fan, than you know what to expect from her writing and I can tell you, you WILL NOT be disappointed. I want to add also, how much I like this book's cover art. It's fierce and pretty in one. Very Fantasy like.

As always, Everything seems to go wrong in Kate Daniels life. Being a Knight of the Order of Merciful Aid, she doesn't have it easy. But, She's come a long way to where she is now, and I find from book 1, a lot has happened, and she's now fully coming to terms with the important things in her life. Curran, the Beast Lord, and my favorite new man, stood her up after an agonizing wait. Kate finally feels she might be ready to surrender her heart, but things always seem to stop her from being happy. Now Kate, fears that her family could be a major danger (Stranger Danger? Jk) for Curran and the other shape shifters.
She's got a lot of her plate right now, but that's not all. Saiman, a former god who likes to play with Kate simply because she presents a challenge to him, decides to stir things up with Kate and Curran, and her professional career at the Order is at crossroads. We also get to learn more about Roland, and his past. But it's not all trials, and mystery. Kate and Curran finally get what they both want this time around, which made me get what I wanted! Ilona really knows how to push you to the edge of your seat! I don't want to forget how hilarious Ilona is.
She writes amazing scenes, and her humor is always
well put.

I loved all of this series, but I think I have to say this one is my favorite, apart from Magic strikes.
Each book brings more, interesting qualities and exciting scenes to the table, I cannot wait to see what's in store for the gang next.
I HIGHLY recommend you start this series, and if you already have, This book rocked! Don't you agree?

Get it now! You won't be sorry!
