Review: Moon Sworn by Keri Arthurrev

Moon Sworn (Riley Jenson Guardian, #9)Moon Sworn by Keri Arthur

My rating:

Synopsis:

Some nights never end.

Some desires never die. . . .

Shape-shifting werewolf and vampire Riley Jenson is through with death—causing it, solving it, surviving it. Her soul mate, Kye Murphy, is dead—and at Riley’s own hands. Not even the seductive embrace of her vampire lover, Quinn, can fully ease her mind, for she has begun questioning everything that makes her Riley—including her job at the Directorate.

Now, the ritualistically slain bodies of ex-cons have started turning up. Reluctantly, Riley takes the case, but something even worse is waiting in the wings. A vicious enemy from her past is determined to strip Riley of everything that gives her life any meaning: her lover, her brother—and even her own identity. Can Riley survive this ultimate assault? All she knows is, she must fight one last time to find answers, before everything goes dark forever.

My Thoughts:
Moon Sworn is the 9th and last installment in the Riley Jensen series by Keri Arthur. Keri Arthur is a one of a kind writer. She has many excellent series under her belt, and each as popular as the last. I'm a huge fan of all her books, especially this series. Riley Jensen is a kick-ass heroine. One I will miss...

Moon Sworn picks up a few months after the events from Bound to Shadows. And as much as I wanted to see Riley have her happy ending, (which is more than deserves), I didn't want this series to end.
Riley still suffers deeply from the events of the last book. She hurts, and she knows how lucky she should be to have everyone who loves her, like she does. But she can't help but feel pain. She's battling emptiness from her loss, and it's taking it's toll.

Blake Jensen is seeking revenge on Riley. Coming up with an elaborate plot to make Riley suffer from memory loss, while being dumped into a small town, where he plans on killing her. It's a lot to plan to kill someone, but I suppose it's hard to kill Riley. especially when she has a extremely bad-ass twin brother and Quinn, one of the most powerful, strong vampire boyfriends ever? I guess I'd go through these lengths if I was to kill her as well. But being the most smartest, kick-ass heroine I've ever read, taking her memory away, and dumping her into a small town, is another day at the park...

Book 8 (Bound to Shadows) was hands down the best of the series. But this book packed a punch of it's own. We get to learn fall in love with Riley and Quinn all over again. What's not to love? This book is a ride of emotions and an excellent finish to an amazing series. And although this is the last of Riley as a protagonist, it's not the end of her world. The spin-off series will center on Risa, and focus on the Aedh and demons. And we will see more Riley, Liander, Rhoan and Quinn! Probably not as much as we would like, but still, more Riley & the gang! I'm super excited to see what Ms. Arthur has in store for us!
