Review: On The Edge (The Edge, #2) By Ilona Andrews

On the Edge (The Edge, #1)On the Edge by Ilona Andrews

My rating:

“Grab the guns and get in the truck, we’re going to WalMart…”

Synopsis:
Rose Drayton lives on the Edge, between the world of the Broken (where people drive cars, shop at Wal-Mart, and magic is a fairy tale) and the Weird (where blueblood aristocrats rule, changelings roam, and the strength of your magic can change your destiny). Only Edgers like Rose can easily travel from one world to the next, but they never truly belong in either.
Rose thought if she practiced her magic, she could build a better life for herself. But things didn’t turn out how she planned, and now she works a minimum wage, off the books job in the Broken just to survive. Then Declan Camarine, a blueblood noble straight out of the deepest part of the Weird, comes into her life, determined to have her (and her power).
But when a terrible danger invades the Edge from the Weird, a flood of creatures hungry for magic, Declan and Rose must work together to destroy them—or they’ll devour the Edge and everyone in it . . .

My Thoughts:
I'm a huge fan of Ilona and Gordan Andrews. I recently got into her Kate Daniels series, and was immediately hooked. So naturally, I had to read this series as well. I was lucky enough to win an ARC copy of Bayou Moon off Ms. Andrews website, so that made it extra easy to get started on this series.

On The Edge is the first installment in The 'rustic fantasy'(as said on the authors website) series, 'The Edge'. It's a bit of Urban Fantasy, and a bit of Paranormal romance, I suppose it also has a bit of horror in parts, by the way some things are described. That being said, this is an excellent start to a promising series. The characters are likable and well written, the plot is steady and exciting, and the romance and tension between Rose and Declan Camarine is electric. Declan is an amazing character, that I cannot wait to see more of!

The Edge is a world that lies between the Broken (A fictional version of our world - Walmart & McDonald's..) and the Weird (The Land Of Fantasy, magic, castles. etc.) Only Edgers like Rose can easily travel from one world to the next. Edgers understand some of both the worlds but do not fit in with either. Rose's teenage years weren't her favorite. At 18 her power to Flash was unusually strong for a edger and drew bad attention her way. Blue Bloods wanting her hand in marriage, without her say.

It's been three years without a bother until Lord Declan Camarine appears on her porch step, absolutely reeking blue blood Weird, announcing she will be his come hell or high water. Rose swore she's had enough, that he isn't anyone she couldn't handle. Right? And the story beings...

So, if your into action, fantasy, romance and hot men fighting for their woman, then your in for a treat. This book will not disappoint. Once I put On The Edge down, I immediately picked up Bayou Moon and got started. It was too good to wait a minute longer!
