Annual Halloween Event: Interview & GIVEAWAY with HP Mallory

Welcome HP! Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks for having me!

First off, How do you send your Halloween each year? Including this year.

Well, ever since last year (with the arrival of my son) Halloweens are more kid friendly! Last year we didn't do much as my little guy was only 5 months old but this year we are going trick or treating! He's going to be a dragon and seems to be very excited about his costume. LOL

What was your favorite costume you worse as a child/adult years?
My fav has to be when I went as the Headless Horseman last year and my baby was my jack o lantern head!

I love a good Paranormal romance, and your books are certainly that. Where did you get your inspiration for your
Jolie Wilkins Series?
Um, I don't know. LOL. I was living in Cambridge, England at the time and I think being around such history and traveling to see so many different things just got my creative juices flowing. I'm one of those people who has about 6 story lines going in her head at any given moment. For some reason, Jolie's story just rose to the top and forced me to write it down!

Are you anything like its heroine, Jolie?
Yes and No. I'm not psychic and I'm not a witch. LOL. But, I think as the author, parts of me can't help but find themselves in my characters.

Currently, how many books are going to be in the Jolie Wilkins &
Dulcie O'Neil series? I am pretty sure there will be 3 books.

Where is your favorite place to write? Bed, Office, Coffee shop?
In my office at home. That's the only place I write--at 5 am everyday!

Without giving too much away, what can we expect for Jolie in
Toil and Trouble?
Well, Toil and Trouble will pick up where Fire Burn left off and you'll find out what happens with the war with Bella, and it will answer everyone's questions about why Rand can't stand Sinjin! And Sinjin plays a huge part in Toil and Trouble.

I'm a huge sucker for great cover art. I'm in love with yours. Who's your cover art designer and also your websites designer?
Thank you! Well, I'm actually the designer of my book covers and my website. Before I take too much credit (LOL), I do want to mention that I purchased the art of the people and then I manipulated it in photoshop to add the Halloweeny backgrounds, change eye and hair color, add fangs, etc.

So Halloween is at a end, and it's now on to Christmas :O , what are your plans? Writing wise. Any Christmas magic going to happen for Jolie or Dulcie?
Well, I will be wrapping up my final edits to Jolie's next book, Toil and Trouble, in time for a release on Jan 1. There actually will be a Christmas scene in Toil and Trouble so that will be fun to write during Christmas time!

Here's a few quickies:

Cats or Dogs? Both.

Witches or Demons? Witches.

Vampires or Werewolves? Vamps all the way.

Writing or Reading? Writing

Movies or Television? Movies

Beer or Spirits? Spirits

Whats your favorite band/music genre?
Really into indie music at the moment. Here are some songs that formed my soundtrack to Fire Burn:
Blah Blah Blah by Say Hi To Your Mom
Digitalism by Pogo
Ghetto Ways by Scissors for Lefty
Pinback by Syracuse
Oslo in the Summertime by Of Montreal
Teenage Riot by Sonic Youth
Blues from Down Here, by TV on the Radio
Hang me up to dry by Cold War Kids
I wanna be adored by Stone Roses
Westfall by Okervill River
Electricityscape by The Strokes

Whats book/books are you currently reading?
I just started reading Lover Awakened again by JR Ward. It's my fav of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. It's the one about Z, the most disturbed of all the brothers. I really liked this series but she lost me at the one where the heroine turns into a ghost...

Are you tired of my pesty questions??
Nope, I love them! LOL

Thanks again, for stopping by! You rock!
