Review: Twice Bitten by Chloe Neill

Twice Bitten
by Chloe Neill

Frigging Amazing! Why did it have to end?!

Merit, Chicago’s newest vampire, is learning how to play well with others. Other supernaturals, that is. Shapeshifters from across the country are convening in the Windy City, and as a gesture of peace, Master Vampire Ethan Sullivan has offered their leader a very special bodyguard: Merit. Merit is supposed to protect the Alpha, Gabriel Keene—and to spy for the vamps while she’s at it. Oh, and luckily Ethan’s offering some steamy, one-on-one combat training sessions to help her prepare for the mission.

Merit must accept the assignment, even though she knows that she’ll probably regret it. And she’s not wrong. Someone is gunning for Gabriel Keene, and Merit soon finds herself in the line of fire. She’ll need all the help she can get to track down the would-be assassin, but everywhere she turns, there are rising tensions between supernaturals—not least between her and a certain green-eyed, centuries old master vampire.

My Thoughts:

I think I'm in love. I started reading Girls Have Bite(book 1) on Saturday and I read it in a few hours, then started Friday Night Bites between that night and Sunday and then Started Twice Bitten Sunday night and finished it. I read all three in a span of two days, when I worked! I couldn't not help myself, but I also wish I took my time because now I'm begging for Hard Bitten, which won't be released until May. *cries* So now all I can do is re-read and count down the days...

Like book one, Some Girls Bite, this book is delightful, and addictive. This book may be even more so. The characters are a great as always, and the drama is on over load for this one.

Merit and Sullivan go through a rough go in the last two books. Sullivan is very uncertain of himself, and unclear of his feelings for Merit. Yes, he has feelings for her, there's not missing that, but what will become of them? And as for Merit, she has a lot on her mind.
Besides trying to catch a killer, protect her own life ajusting to the role of Sentinel for the Cadogan House AND keeping her heart in one piece, she really isn't having a great go this time around.

We also get a look into the shifters lives when Merit and Sullivan agree to protect Gabriel the hot, Alpha pack leader. I loved the shifters!

Honestly, this is my favorite book so far. Action, suspense, horror and heart pounding romance! I couldn't ask for anything better. Like I said in my review of Some Girls Bite, you HAVE to read this series. Twice Bitten is an fantastic addition to this series and an excellent addition to the Urban Fantasy genre. I just can't believe I'm only just getting into it now!

You will NOT regret this!
