Review: The Highlanders Touch by Karen Marie Moning

The Highlander's Touch by Karen Marie Moning

My Rating:

Frigging Amazing! Why did it have to end?!

  • Mass Market Paperback: 384 pages
  • Publisher: Dell; Reissue edition (Nov 7 2000)

Synopsis:
A Warrior Of Immortal Powers

He was a mighty Scottish warrior who lived in a world bound by ancient laws and timeless magic. But no immortal powers could prepare the laird of Castle Brodie for the lovely accursed lass who stood before him. A terrible trick of fate had sent her 700 years back in time and into his private chamber to tempt him with her beauty—and seduce him with a desire he could never fulfill. For this woman he burned to possess was also
the woman he had foresworn to destroy.

A Woman Caught In The Mists Of Time

When Lisa felt the earth move under her feet, the fiercely independent 21st-century woman never dreamed she was falling...into another century. But the powerful, naked warrior who stood glaring down at her was only too real...and too dangerously arousing. Irresistibly handsome he might be, but Lisa had no intention of remaining in this savage land torn by treachery and war. How could she know that her seductive captor had other plans for her...plans that would save her from a tragic fate? Or that this man who had long ago forsaken love would defy time itself to claim her for his own....

My Thoughts:
Fantastic! The Highlanders Touch is the third installment in the Highlander series by the amazing Karen Marie Moning!

I'm a huge fan of Moning, she has two amazing series under her belt, the Fever series and of course the Highlander series. Two of which that are very different, yet have similar characters and theories. They cross between each other from time to time, but are not officially connected.

This time around we are dealing with Circenn Brody and Lisa. Circenn is the keeper and guard of the fae's important relics and documents. Adam Black has made sure he picked the best, and has also made certian that whoever has stolen the artifact will be held responsible.
What they didn't realize is that over time the artifact could be anywhere, with anyone. And that's at will be all a misunderstanding.

Lisa is at the museum when she over hears two men talking about a important artifact. When they leave the room, curiosity overrides her and she just has to check it out. What she has no was of knowing is that that artifact is indeed important. It is a piece of fae history and has been cursed. Whoever holds the relic will be imported to Circenn to be "taken care of."

Circenn doesn't realize just how hard it will be to go through with his deal when Lisa shows up in his chambers. His word means everything to him, but he just can't seem to do it.

I love the chemistry between Circenn and Lisa. Lisa is a modern woman sent back into time, with noway to return. Although it would be horrible to leave those your love behind, could you imagine going back to Ccottland 700 years ago? That would be amazing!

As always, Moning has made a intriguing, believable love story with enough history involved to make it super interesting and educational.

Honestly, I love curling up with a book by Mrs Moning. She's brilliant, and I can't wait to read more. I look forward to Adam Blacks story. If you like historic romances, with a twist, then this series is the one for you!

I've read this series years ago but I can still remember how good a read this series was!! What I did not like is the dark UF the Fever series took after the Highlander series... but, you still have a few more books of glorious reading pleasure in front of you with this series!! :)
