Review: Dark Needs at Night's Edge by Kresley Cole

Dark Needs at Night's Edge
by Kresley Cole

My rating:

Frigging Amazing! Why did it have to end?!

Synopsis:
Bestselling author Kresley Cole continues her seductive Immortals After Dark series with this tale of a vampire shunned even by his own kind and a beautiful phantom, bound together by a passion they cannot resist.

A RAVEN-HAIRED TEMPTRESS OF THE DARK...
Neomi Laress, a famous ballerina from a past century, became a phantom the night she was murdered. Imbued with otherworldly powers but invisible to the living, she haunts her beloved home, scaring away trespassers -- until she encounters a ruthless immortal even more terrifying than Neomi herself.

A VAMPIRE WARRIOR CONSUMED BY MADNESS...
To prevent him from harming others, Conrad Wroth's brothers imprison him in an abandoned manor. But there, a female only he can see seems determined to drive him further into madness. The exquisite creature torments him with desire, leaving his body racked with lust and his soul torn as he finds himself coveting her for his own.

HOW FAR WILL HE GO TO CLAIM HER?
Yet even if Conrad can win Neomi, evil still surrounds her. Once he returns to the brutality of his past to protect her, will he succumb to the dark needs seething inside him?

My Thoughts:
Another number 1 for Mrs. Cole!
Dear Kresely Cole, you are brilliant! I am hooked, and cannot get enough of your Immortals After Dark series. How about writing a book a week? Ha ha, just kidding! It would be awesome though..

Although each book has the same feel to it, each one is a whole new story, with great new ideas and plots. This world Kresley Cole invented has Vampires, Fae(Valkyrie), Werewolves(Lykae) and Demons, all that are interesting and such fun to read. Not to mention how good looking every character is..

This novel is the story of Conrad Wroth and Neomi Laress.

Conrad Wroth is slowly descending into madness. As a vampire warrior, if you kill and drink the blood of your enemies, you won't only get their powers, you get their memories, and with each kill, the more memories come along with it. Conrad is now mad, filled with evil beings memories, and red eyes. His brothers are out to save him from his madness, and kidnap him(which wasn't easy, one bit!) and take him to a abandoned house that his brother bought so he could hold Conrad there. What they didn't know is that, that house was haunted by a ghost, and not just any ghost, the ghost of the beautiful ballerina of a past century, Neomi Laress.

Neomi is a wonderful character, she's definitely original, being killed at 1927. In death she's a thriving young woman who has adapted a bit over time, but is still of an older time, who was a bit frisky and rebellious even then. She's not modest, and is a fine dancer, she's easy to like and fun to read along with, I loved her character, and think others will as well.

As a couple, I loved Conrad and Neomi, such a perfect match! Both have tormented pasts, and both died a horrific way. They are both strong and smart, who missed out of many things in life, to watch them grow with each other was very enjoyable!

This story wasn't all smiles though, it had very tough scenes to read, not because of being wrote badly, just the opposite in fact. Such emotional raw scenes were perfect for this story, but also so very sad to read. I had tears for some scenes, but still loved the outcome. Each Kresley Cole book is a treat, and cannot wait for the next one!

This series kind of reminds me a bit of J.R Wards BDBH series, Karen Marie Moning's Highlander series and when it's a bit fluffy then a bit like Lyndsay Sands Vampire series, but honestly, it's a series all of it's own!
