Kiss of a Demon King Cover PictureKiss of a Demon King by Kresley Cole

Her downfall...

They were never supposed to want each other this much…
With each smoldering encounter, their shared hunger only increases. If they can defeat the sinister enemy that stands between them, will Sabine make the ultimate sacrifice for her demon? Or will the proud king lay down his crown and arms to save his sorceress?

My Thoughts:

Kresley Cole has got me hooked!

I read 6 of her books in a week! I couldn't get enough of her intense writing that has great emotion, twists and heart wrenching romance. As I'm writing this, I want to read more, it's that good.

Since Wicked Deeds On A Winter's Night, I've been begging to read Rydstrom's story. I wasn't sure what kind of a woman the author was going to come up with for him, he's a hard guy to match with being a Demon King and all... But it turns out all you need is an equally fierce woman, and then your all set, well you should be anyway. That's not exactly what happens here though.

Sabine the Sorceress of Illusions is evil yes, but not in the same way as her siblings. Where they are completely twisted and evil, her evil ways are to protect her younger sister Lanthe. It was different to read along with a character so...strange with her thoughts and habits. You usually start with a character that's rough, and able to mold, that starts to change fairly quick for her male, but this one is so much different. She's been shaped and raised a certain way, and that's how she's staying, for the most part.

Although at times I was sort of disappointed with her thoughts and actions, I really liked her character. Sabine is a one of a kind female, probably the most original female character I've read in a while. She's no damsel in distress, that's for sure!

Sabine and Rydstrom are an amazing pair, I wish there would be a short story of their "happily ever after". If you find yourself wanting to know how they turned out after the story, then you know it was a good one. Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series is a new treat for me, and I recommend it to everyone!
