Halfway Hexed by Kimberly Frost
Frigging Amazing! Why did it have to end?!
Another magical installment in the Southern Witch novel by Kimberly Frost!
If you've read "Would-Be Witch" and "Barely Bewitched" then I know your begging to get your hands on Halfways Hexed. So, when Kimberly told me she would be sending me an ARC copy to review, I couldn't contain my squeel of delight!
"Halfway Hexed" takes up four days after "Barely Bewitched" ended. If you haven't read the first two installments, then it's best you do before you read this novel. They novels aren't stand alone, and you would could get confused with some characters and backgrounds.
At the start of this novel Tammy Jo is trying to get her life back together somewhat, by again trying her old life's love-a pastry chef. She has her first commission from an accountant from Texas Friends of Fish and Fowl, who has a anniversary coming up and wanted Tammy to do a center piece sculpture. She was happy things were getting back on track with her new life.
Since the events in "Barely Bewitched", Tammy's been avoiding Bryn. (Or at least, trying to.) She' still quite confused of where they stand, and she has enough to think about, even before a strange package is sent to her from England. The international package was sent anonymously, which was sketchy itself, but when a ghost is attached to the item and seems in need of help, Tammy Jo starts to really worry.
Quickly after Tammy's life goes from bad to worse, while being kidnapped-twice, hunted down, investigated by WAM(the World Association of Magic) and intimidated by Bryn's pretty ex-girlfriend- who happens to be on the WAM council. Just great, right?
This was one of my favorite installments in the series. There's plently of action and suspence, more so than the first two novels. The romance is a bit more intense, and the humor and twists really pack a punch.
The characters were are great as ever, with a few new faces to add. Bryn's best friend was a hoot! I can't wait to see more of him.
As a fan of Mercutio(her Ocelot)I was happy to see him back in action.
As secondary characters go, that cat can really steal your heart!
"Halfway Hexed" was exciting to say the least! There's enough humor, action, horror and romance to hold you over another year. Although Kimberly, your welcome to release another.. like... right now! :)
