I’d have been a lot more appreciative if he hadn’t pushed me first." Cassandra Palmer ― Hunt the Moon by Karen Chance

Review: This Side of the Grave by Jeaniene Frost

This Side of the Grave by Jeaniene Frost

This Side of the Grave by Jeaniene Frost

My rating:  1/2
This book is one you don`t want to miss!

Danger waits on both sides of the grave.

Half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her vampire husband Bones have fought for their lives, as well as for their relationship. But just when they've triumphed over the latest battle, Cat's new and unexpected abilities threaten to upset a long-standing balance…

With the mysterious disappearance of vampires, rumours abound that a species war is brewing.  A zealot is inciting tensions between the vampires and ghouls, and if these two powerful groups clash, innocent mortals could become collateral damage. Now Cat and Bones are forced to seek help from a dangerous "ally" – the ghoul queen of New Orleans herself. But the price of her assistance may prove more treacherous than even the threat of a supernatural war… to say nothing of the repercussions Cat never imagined.

My Thoughts:
Cat and Bones are back!

"This Side of the Grave" is the fifth novel in the Night Huntress series by the amazing Jeaniene Frost. The Night Huntress series is a mix between Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance, with a exiting, original twist.
Cat was born half vampire/half human, but things have changed through the series to make her even more unique. The Cat and Bones duo has really spread as a favorite for many and with right reason too. Life's much easier after your Cat and Bones fix, huh?
Favorite lines:

Much slower, I turned around to see Vlad examining his fingernails, as if his hands weren’t still ablaze in the flames that had blasted the ghoul’s head off moments before.“What the hell was that?” I gasped.“Premature inflamulation,” he replied. “Happens sometimes. Very embarrassing. I don’t like to talk about it.”

Oh when oh when, will Vlad get his book?!?

Anyways, back to the review..

Cat and Bones are now happily married. No more fighting, no more lies. I loved seeing them happy and in love. Sometimes you think that if they are now together it won't be a exciting as the chase, but Frost makes it just as exciting as it was from day one. Now they are dealing with the unusual fallout from Cat’s transition into full vampire. She was never the same as others, but why can't get get anything easy? I guess she has Bones, and that's worth it, right?;)

If that's wasn't enough, Ghouls are killing the weak, master-less vampires throughout the country and it's up to Cat and Bones to get down to the bottom of things and save the day.

I was super excited to see Timmie again. His innocence was cute. I laughed when he said something like.." You're still with him?!" - once he noticed Bones ha ha!
It was really clever how Frost used Timmie in this novel.

"This Side of the Grave" was great, but not my favorite of the series. Yes, it's written amazing and we get more of the duo, but I hated that they were separated so much of the novel. It was necessary of the storyline, but I still don't have to like the fact.:P

Bottom line is: Jeaniene Frost never fails to entertain!

Another good thing is, we will be getting another Cat and Bones novel in August! 2 in one year! *Hugs Jeaniene Frost* I can't wait!
