Current Reading Mood: Urban Fantasy
Quote of the day: “I’d have been dead a long time ago if not for my friends, one of whom had just jumped off the cliff after me.
I’d have been a lot more appreciative if he hadn’t pushed me first." Cassandra Palmer ― Hunt the Moon by Karen Chance

Most thought about built world in a novel? + Author Thanks Yous!

Have you ever thought about a world that was built in a novel after reading it, wishing you could visit there, or even just re-read the novel and feel the same impact it did the first time? I do that for many novels, but there are some that just stick with me. Some authors have such an imagination and way with words, that they actually draw a person into another world with their words. No big deal right? Wrong. It's a big deal for sure. You either have "it", or you don't. Thankfully, many authors do and I can thank them through high star reviews and post like this. Maybe one day I'll be able to thank these authors in person, but until then... Thank you!

I think I'll do this each week, or whenever I think of a fantastic world that I can't get enough of. It's not a meme, but just my thanks to all you fantastic authors!

Today I couldn't stop thinking of "The Hollows" world, Kim Harrison imagined up. Witches and Vampires and Pixies and Demons and Elves and Humans, "Oh My"! No matter how many novels or movies have similar worlds, this one is original in almost every way. Nothing can top Kim Harrison's world for Urban Fantasy. (In My Mind) I find myself thinking back at scenarios, what really happened, what I missed. I miss character that are gone, especially a favorite of mine, that I won't tell due to others that haven't read this series..(*coughs* READ IT! *coughs*) But to have a character actually die after being a a few of the novels, it takes a toll on the reader. You get so connected with a character that once you know you'll be reading on without them, you miss them. I could go on for days, but to sum it up.. Thank you Kim! You changed my reading life.

Another thank you goes out to author Richelle Mead. Anything she writes seems to be a hit. She really can tell a story, am I right?
Succubus Dreams (Georgina Kincaid, Book 3)
I love all three of her series, but my first favorite will always be her Succubus series. What a fantastic series! Another fantastic world that has a brilliant and heart breaking past story for the heroine that reveals why she is what she is today. She isn't the happy succubus, doing her job because she loves it, nope. She's a hurt, lost woman that took the only way out she knew how at the time and now she's paying the price. Although, she does live more in the present than past, you can see it in the writing that she's hurting. I find myself rethinking then re-reading these novels often, especially the two most emotional ones "Succubus Dreams"  and "Succubus Heat".
You'll stay up all night to just read yourself into this world.

So many series, so little time.
I'll name a few others I think of often, but I know I'll think of more tomorrow, and the next day, etc.

I'll probably go into all these another day on why I love their worlds so much, but for now.. here's a short list!

The Black Dagger Brotherhood series is one of my top favorites. The World that J.R. Ward has created is amazing. And I just love the way she writes. When you have Authors like these who have awesome creativity and amazing writing skills its hard not to read them over and over. I have probably missed out on reading other great others just because I want to keep reading about the worlds (and people) that my favorite Authors have come up with. Just recommend a few others that I'm sure you have probably heard of that I love are Larissa Ione and Gena Showalter. There book series are to die for also.

Thanks for sharing yours and helping me see there are other amazing writers out there that I should give a chance.

I really got to get rid of that spam. haha

Your welcome Maria! I love hearing new authors and series myself. I only read a few novels from Gena Showalter, but loved it. I haven't read Larissa's novels yet, but I HAVE to soon. I heard such good things.
