Interview & Giveaway with Rachel Vincent!

Thanks for stopping by Rachel! Welcome!

So it's finally spring time. Are you feeling the spring fever yet?
I've only seen spring from my office window so far, so no, I'm not feeling it yet. ;)

As a fan of all your novels, I'm over excited that you'll be adding a new series to our shelves! Can you tell us a little about Blood Bound(Unbound #1)?

Blood Bound (Unbound, #1)Blood Bound is set in a new world, where promises/oaths/contracts can be "sealed," and are then virtually unbreakable, binding people to their word. It's a dark world where those in need are often bound in indentured servitude through oath to those with power or resources. The Blood Bound story in particular is about a man and woman--former lovers--forced to work together in spite of opposing loyalties to help a recently widowed mutual friend. It's a story about love and conflict and betrayal and sacrifice. It's very gritty and violent. I kind of love it. ;)

Will it be released this year?

Yes. August 23, in the US and Canada.

As heroines go, Faythe is pretty alpha. Will Olivia be anything like Faythe?

Um...not really. She and Faythe are in completely different situations. They've both had to make tough choices, but Olivia hasn't come out as morally unscathed as Faythe did. Hers is a world made up of shades of gray, whereas Faythe usually had the luxury of a black-and-white perspective.

Your shifters novels are my favorite. Each story is as addictive as the last and I know I'm not the only one begging for more. Will you be writing anymore shifter novels?

I'm not planning to write anything more from Faythe's POV, but I haven't ruled out the possibility of a spinoff. Later.

What are your thoughts on vlog interviews? If you had the time, would they be something you'd be willing to do, or at least try out?

Oh, maybe occasionally. But honestly, one of the things I love about my job is that I can do it in my pjs with no makeup on. Vlogging would be a lot of effort for me, on a regular work day. ;) -I hear yuh! lol

I'm read interviews where authors have received random items and notes in the mail. Have you ever received odd, unique or even disturbing fan mail?

My readers are generally awesome and non-creepy. For which I'm grateful. ;)

Are you currently working on anything or taking a well deserved rest?

I'm always working. Right now, I'm writing the rough draft of Shadow Bound, the second Unbound book as well as brainstorming the next Soul Screamers novella.

Thanks again for stopping by Rachel. You rock!

I enjoyed the interview and the chance to hear about Blood Bound. It sounds like such a fantastic story, I'm really looking forward to reading it. I haven't got Alpha yet (although it's on my wish list), so it's a wonderful prize.

I have a job interview tomorrow morning before my regular job. The trouble is that due to the extreme heat in Sydney at the moment, my work place has said we can come in casual friday clothes.
