Historical Romance Event - Interview with Lori Handeland

Welcome Lori! Thanks for stopping by!

It's been a beautiful summer. How's this summer been treating you?

In the usual manner. Kids everywhere. Locusts eating the food. Me hunkered in my office trying everything I can think of--ear plugs, ear phones, gibbering in a corner--to get my writing done despite all the noise.
Me: Sounds fun..minus the bugs!

Your best known for your Nightcreatures saga and your Phoenix Chronicles, but for those who don't know, your also a very talented western historical romance author and you also write under the name Lori Austin.
Can you tell us a little of what to expect from your first novel, "CHASE THE WIND"?

Chase the Wind will be my first western as Lori Austin, but it will be my eleventh altogether, as I wrote 10 westerns under my own name.
Chase the Wind (tentative title) is the story of Cathleen Chase, whose entire world was destroyed one night on a Kansas farm. Rather than giving up, she decides to
get revenge by becoming the bounty hunter Cat O'Banyon. In order to do so she makes a devil's bargain with the gorgeous, seductive con artist, Alexi Romanov.

Which author was the one who made you fall in love with historical romance novels?

I read all the classics in high school--Woodiwiss, Rogers, Small. Loved every one.

I know it would be impossibly hard to choose a favorite couple, but is there one couple who always stood out to you in the historical romance genre?

I loved Ginny and Steve back then. Also Skye O' Malley and whoever she was with at the time.
Which was the shortest time your wrote a novel that was published?

I think 3 months has been my record.

Me: Awesome timing!

I read that your addicted to the internet. It's hard not to be, huh? If you could choose only one website you could visit tomorrow(besides your email), which ones would you choose?
The Goddess Blogs

Me: I visited that blog before, it's great!

Do you watch any tv series that started out from books?(ex. True Blood, Vampire Diaries, Game of Thrones?)

I love True Blood. But it's so different from the books.

Me: It really is, but I find I enjoy and love both the novels and the show, so it's like extra Sookie and friends:)

As Lori Handeland I will have the second book in my Shakespeare Undead series released in June, 2012. ZOMBIE ISLAND: A Shakespeare Undead Novel continues the adventures of Will and Kate.

As for Lori Austin, CHASE THE WIND will be released in October, 2012, with the second as yet untitled book to follow in June, 2013.

Thanks for stopping by Lori. You rock!

Long time fan of the Nightcreature novels, was so excited when you released books 9, 10 and 11 so close together. Is there any news when the next Phoenix Chronicles book releases? I can't find the exact release date for book 5 "Demon's At The Gate".
