Quote of the day: “I’d have been dead a long time ago if not for my friends, one of whom had just jumped off the cliff after me.
I’d have been a lot more appreciative if he hadn’t pushed me first." Cassandra Palmer ― Hunt the Moon by Karen Chance

Historical Romance Event- Review:The Dark Queen by Rosey

Welcome Rosey! Thanks for stopping by!

A Historical Romance I reccomend:
The Dark Queen (The Dark Queen Saga #1) by Susan Carroll
Book Blurb:From Brittany’s misty shores to the decadent splendor of Paris’s royal court, one woman must fulfill her destiny–while facing the treacherous designs of Catherine de Medici, the dark queen. She is Ariane, the Lady of Faire Isle, one of the Cheney sisters, renowned for their mystical skills and for keeping the isle secure and prosperous. But this is a time when women of ability are deemed sorceresses, when Renaissance France is torn by ruthless political intrigues, and all are held in thrall to the sinister ambitions of Queen Catherine de Medici. Then a wounded stranger arrives on Faire Isle, bearing a secret the Dark Queen will do everything in her power to possess. The only person Ariane can turn to is the comte de Renard, a nobleman with fiery determination and a past as mysterious as his own unusual gifts.

What I Say:I'm not too into romance but I love France and I love the supernatural. So to throw some witchcraft into Renaissance France and I'll read it. Before I proceed with my review I read this in 2005 so I have forgot some of it.
Ariane is the oldest of three sisters. Witches of the Earth. Ariane is a healer. The Comte Renard made me laugh. I liked him. He tells everyone that he and Ariane are to marry, holds a wedding, and...she doesn't come LOL. When a strange shows up with some damning stuff against her evilness, Queen Catherine, Ariane is in a bind and turns to Renard for help. Renard is more then happy to help. He has some mystery to him as well.
The romance is sweet. It is not a "hey you're hot. Let's jump into bed. Oh BTW...I met you an hour ago" type romance. Ariane takes her time but it is all worth it. You have witch hunters, politics, mystery, and some romance in this book. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Me: This sounds great Rosey! I'm going to check it out for sure. :)
