Review: One Night with a Price by Sabrina Jeffries

One Night With a Prince (Royal Brotherhood, #3)One Night With a Prince by Sabrina Jeffries

My rating:
This book is one you don`t want to miss!

Synopsis:

Continuing her irresistible Royal Brotherhood Series, bestselling author Sabrina Jeffries introduces the third of three half-noble half brothers — the brashest rogue in all of London.
Proper Lady Christabel, the Marchioness of Haversham, is desperate to regain some letters that could destroy her — so desperate that she pretends to be the mistress of notorious gaming-club owner Gavin Byrne to accompany him to a scandalous house party where she can reclaim them. But when she agreed to let Byrne coach her on how a true mistress behaves, she never suspected how very...persuasive his wicked lessons would be.
Gavin is secretly determined to find the letters himself and use them for revenge against the noble sire who abandoned him to grow up in London's worst slums. He's also delighted at how very successful his "mistress lessons" are: it won't be long before the luscious young widow is in his bed. But when Christabel catches Gavin in his own seductive net, he faces a difficult choice: to wreak the vengeance he's planned all his life, or to protect the woman he may — to his own astonishment — need more than revenge.

Review:
One Night with a Price is the third installment in the “The Royal Brotherhood series” which is set in England’s Regency period by the fantastic Sabrina Jeffries. Sabrina Jeffries is one of my favorite Historical Romance authors. Her style is always entrancing and filled with excitement and heart pounding romance. I know I’m in for a treat when I pick up a book by Jeffries.

The Royal Brotherhood trilogy has an amazing cast of characters. Alec, the Earl of Iversley, Marcus North, Viscount Draker and now Gavin Bryne, Prinny's unacknowledged son.  All three brothers have the same sire and different mothers. Each have gone through tough trials and each have a unique relationship with their father.

This time around we follow Gavin and Christabel’s story. Christabel wants what was stolen from her family and Gavin wants justice for his mother’s reputation. They may not trust each other much, but they do get heated when around each other. I love the relationship Christabel and Gavin have. When they encounter each other in the book, it wasn’t their first time meeting. They met previously when Christabel shot at him when he came to her house to see her husband about a debt that was owed to him. Now, Christabel offers a plan that she would to pretend to be Gavin's mistress so that they can gain an invitation to a gambling competition being held at lord Stokely's estate. But what puts a knot in their “fake” affair, is that Gavin wants that “fake” to being real, although he never plans on falling in love and that’s something Christabel is obvious to want. So, in there lies a lot of the couples troubles, even if they don’t know it yet.

I have a few favorite scenes, but one in particular held my attention. Their ‘wicked whist’ game with each other is fantastic. For those who read this novel will know what I mean when I say it was memorable.

To me, the characters were multi-dimensional and entertaining. The mystery had many twist and turns that kept me on my toes. It was a fast paced book with an intricate plot that so many would enjoy. I loved that the plot had enough to pursue without it being too much, but it also gave the two leads plenty of time to spend with each other.
As I already said, Sabrina Jeffries is one of my favorite historical romance authors so I highly recommend romance lovers to check her out!
