"Built upon a large outcrop of basalt rock high above the city; Edinburgh Castle and her ghosts keep a weary eye over the sprawling metropolis below.
There were so many haunted placed to choose from, but I had to go with Edinburgh Castle in Scotland. I love castles and this one is beautiful. It was built over 900 years ago and was a battleground for countless lives. Edinburgh Castle is said to be one of the most haunted spots in Scotland. Edinburgh itself has been called the most haunted city in all of Europe!
Deep below the foundations of the castle a series of tunnels were found to run from the castle to the Royal mile and reportedly to Hollyrood Place. Upon their discovery a lonely piper was sent down to investigate what lay hidden in their dark depths. He took with him his pipes, playing them as he went, so those above could track his progress. Suddenly, about halfway along the playing stopped. A rescue party was sent down to investigate and upon their return they reported that the piper had vanished. To this day, you can on occasions, hear his haunting tune as he walks tirelessly along the tunnel." - Guide to Castles of Europe
"On various occasions, visitors to the castle have reported a phantom piper, a headless drummer, the spirits of French prisoners from the Seven Years War and colonial prisoners from the American Revolutionary War - even the ghost of a dog wandering in the grounds' dog cemetery. So, there's my haunted place choice! Has anyone visited there before? I'd love to hear more from anyone. :)
Also, I found this pretty creepy, ghost costume from a while back(I'm guessing). Whadda think?
