Movie Review: Breaking Dawn part 1

The thing about the series is that I really enjoyed the novels. Truly. Then I started watching the movies. The first was fun to see the characters come to life on the big screen, but from then on, did anyone else find that they all keep changing their looks? Even when they're immortal and supposed to stay the same as when they were when they dies? Okay, they weren't too different, but I really believe they changed the contact lenses from the first movie, compared to the rest.

I enjoyed this movie. It was the kind of movie I felt I could watch laying in bed. I like that you get to watch what you've read come to life, but I still don't find it was good as the books. Another thing is the acting. I felt it best in the first movie, although
nothing's particularly wrong with any of the other films acting. I know most make fun of Kristen's acting, but when you think of it, she does play a eighteen year old getting married, while trying to decide if becoming a vampire is right. Most of them would be awkward and down right off balance, emotionally. Yes, sometimes she does get a bit... annoying, but I still couldn't see anyone else as Bella, now anyway.

There wasn't much action, like there was in the last movie. I knew that would be the case though, since I read the book. I wasn't sure how they'd end the movie, since they are making two movies from one book. When there was only about thirty minutes left, I really wanted it to keep going. They could have made it a three hour movie, instead of making us wait. *laughs* Ah well, they ended it at a great spot for what they were working with. It left us begging for more. That's
another thing that I find annoying. The movie comes out and I'm not sure I want to see it, then once I finally do and I get hooked and want more. he he.
Over all, it stayed true to the book, the same as or more so, than many movies I've watched that were based on books. It was entertaining and now I'm left with wanting part two out asap. Stephanie Meyers should be proud.

I can't believe I haven't seen this yet. I do agree that the acting was best during the first film. I think it's the director. I really wish they had let CH do the entire series. Her commitment to the books was evident.
