Review: A Perfect BLood ( The Hollows, #10) by Kim Harrison

A Perfect Blood (The Hollows, #10) A Perfect Blood by Kim Harrison

Synopsis:
Ritually murdered corpses are appearing across Cincinnati, terrifying amalgams of human and other. Pulled in to help investigate by the FIB, former witch turned day-walking demon Rachel Morgan soon realizes a horrifying truth--a would-be creator is determined to make his (or her) own demons. But it can't be done without Rachel's blood, in this latest blockbuster by a "New York Times"-bestselling author.

Review:
Another hit for Kim Harrison. 'A Perfect Blood' is the tenth instalment in the Hollows series and unlike some prolonged series, this one has stayed a hit and a must read for me and many others. I can't wait to get back into the world and see what's new. It's like visiting an old friend.

The only reason it took me this long to pick this up was the price of the Hardcover. It's retailed at around $34.00(?) here in Canada and although I LOVE this series, 25 bucks for a one day read is pains me. I picked this up in Trade paperback for only $19.99, so naturally I was very happy to save the extra $15.00.

Rachel is always either stressed, in trouble, hurt or sad. She has her good days, but not often enough. Problems start small when Rachel needs a valid license and to be able to register her car in her name, but the records have her down as deciesed. Not easy to get things done when you're supposed to be dead.
If that wasn't annoying enough, then a dead vamp inlists her and Ivy to help to catch the killers out for supernatural blood. The IS and FIB can't be trusted, secrets are kept and people are being bruitally murdered. If Rachel doesn't solve the crime, they're ready to set her up for it. Just another day for Rachel, but having the gang with her might keep her alive.

Although it was grusome what was being done to the people, I got to admit it was interesting and held my attention. Great story idea!

Pros:- Rachel/Trent action. Although, not as much as I'd like, their relationship is progressing and becoming more open as friends. I can't wait to see what happens next.
-Wayne(werewolf/bodyguard) was a fun character.
-Jenks! Always a bonus, but his quotes are even funnier this time around.
-The Ring. That's all I'm going to say.

Cons: -Not enough Al or Trent. Trent was in there more than usual, aside from the last instalment 'Pale Demon' where he was stuck in a car with Rachel for three days. That was awesome. Al though, doesn't show up half as much as I'd like, but I think that will change in the next book.

It's obvious I enjoyed this instalment, I only wish it was longer or we could get two a year. *sighs* Oh well, the wait builds the anticipation. *laughs*
