Summer Reading. What was your favorite book that you were REQUIRED to read when you were in school?
There's a few books that I was required to read in school that I loved actually.
Animal Farm by George Orwell stands out most. Our teacher was very enthusiastic about reading it out loud and got us all to take part then watch a movie, so that definitely helped us all like it more.
Another favorite was The Outsiders by S.E Hinton. "Stay Gold Pony Boy" was one line everyone remembers from that book. We also watched the movie after reading this book as well. How could you not like it, really?
In Jr. High we were required to read Hatchet by Gary Paulsen, which is a fantastic read for all ages. I still highly recommend that book! Last, but not least is Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson. This is a very emotional and well written book. I loved it and loved the movie as well. After reading other posts, I realized I almost forgot The Diary of Young Girl by Ann Frank. It's a classic and full of emotion and history. A Fantastic read. AND Holes by Louis Sachar. Awesome book and movie!
There's many more that I enjoyed, but I think I'll stop there. *laughs*
I recommend that everyone read those novels at least once in their lives. It worth it!
